School Policy - Campus Visits
Starting Fall 2009, any visitors to the Sarasota High School campus during school hours MUST check in at the office and get a sticker before going anywhere else on campus.  This means you can no longer just walk into the band room during school hours. You MUST go to the office first. Then you may go to the band room.

This is for our student's security. Please adhere to this policy whenever you visit the campus during school hours.
Thanks you!

Elections for the Mighty Sailor Band Booster Executive Board were held on 3/9. Welcome to the new board:

President - Rick Horne
Vice-President - Jeanne Heere
Treasurer - Tammy Ruben
Secretary - Trea McConahay

The transition will occur on June 1st.
Our visit to the U.S. Naval Academy had a great positive impact on our students, and helped us garner 1st Place and 4 Superiors in the Heritage Inaugural Festival. Read about it in the Academy's Trident publication. Over a thousand Washington pictures are online here
Great press in the HT on 11/25. We got some great coverage from WWSB on 11/7/08 . And again on 11/17/08! There was also a good story in the 11/9/08 Herald Tribune regarding our fund raising challenges. Another story on SNN on 11/20/08.
We're adding more Patrons all the time. Please support the local businesses that support the band.
Our Miss Dweck is now world famous...in Sarasota. Read about the Spirit contest in the Herald-Tribune. To participate, login to MySpace, then go here and find the REGISTER button in the middle of the page. Then just follow the directions. Please don't let me be the only middle aged guy in America to have a High School Musical themed MySpace page.
Lots of new pictures are on Shutterfly. If you have photos to share contact Steve Coker

Corporate sponsorships and grants are essential to augment the funds received from parents. People with experience in these areas are needed to help with our Corporate Relations committee. Please contact Jeanne Heere if you can help.

Marching Band is the most visible part of our program, but the Boosters support all the bands at SHS. Instructors, instruments and music for the Admirals, Orchestra and Wind Ensemble are paid for by the Boosters. Even if your students are not in the Marching Band, the Boosters are here for them, please join us and participate.

All students are expected and required to attend listed after school practices. If we are to play the literature that we can, we need more time than the normal school day affords us. If the need for an absence should arise, please give Mr. Roseboom written notification signed by a parent 48 hours in advance.
RULES FOR SCHOOL ATHLETIC EVENTS

Purses and other personal items may be subject to search.
- SHS also has a NO-RE-ENTRY policy on Varsity football games. Gates must remain locked throughout the course of the game. All cheerleaders, ROTC personnel and game workers must come through the pass gate only! Drinks for the Band will be provided by the Band Boosters.
